First you want to take Baptism by Light and three damage nodes next to it. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgEBBS0OPBLhFCAUcRiRGekaOBpVHOcg8CcvLdIxnjIJNZI26DpSOtg64T38QKBE503YTeNQR1cNWGNYr1nzXz9gS2EhZKNnWGoeajtsRnJscql07XgNeu982YTviPGMdozPkFWRzp65ns2fPp_LouqkrKZXpzCnhKgYqW6sqrXyu-28n8AaxtjSId7B37_jn-St7DjvDvIv8kX2SPcy977-Cv6P Then, you could go up, gain some armor and hp nodes if you still feel a bit squishy, like this. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgEBBLMFLQ48EuEUIBRNFHEYkRnpGjgaVRznIPAnLy3SMZ4yCTWSNug6UjrYOuE9_ECgROdN2E3jUEdXDVhjWK9Z818_YEthIWSjZ1hqHmo7bEZybHKpdO14DXrvfNmBb4TviPGMdozPkFWRzp48nrmezZ8-n8uiAKLqpKymV6cwp4SoGKloqW6sqrXyu-28n8AaxtjSId7B37_jn-St7DjvDvIv8kX2SPcy977-Cv6P Or go straight for damage and finish up your upper tree later. Faster attacks requires some dex =(
|

" I had this same concern when I was working through the game. There a few ways to get the extra dex. You can grab a nodule in the tree for one passive that will get you +30 dex. Also, you can get extra dex through armor mods. A carnage heart is great for that. Good luck! IGN: Ahjr

Thx, trying to do the same.

Hi guys,
Just to talk about my point again on the previous page - I have a similar build, I use spell totem- summon skeletons (+14% quality) so it is a little different. I have 4.4k HP, pretty much max resist (lightning is 68%) and I hit 15k DPS heavy strike / 7k dps ground slam. Tried to do Dominus for the first time solo yesturday and got absoloutely smashed several times, just could not get to him to either leech or attack without taking a faceton of damaage. Is this just something a 2Handed melee build WILL struggle against? Maps are absoloutely fine, other than bad parties and heavy hitting bosses (again, can I make myself better against this? More resist? More armor? More evasion? More life?) but it seems like a solid build, other than I seem to sometimes get almost 1-hit by anything higher than lvl 73 map bosses. Hopefully you can help? |

"Your 1hit issues sound like you're missing a high level CWDT setup - high Molten Shell/Immortal call give a huge survivability boost. Domi is a pain for most melee builds (except high block/tank ones), especially if your playstyle is "MARAUDER SMASH". You need to avoid his Palm area attack, and avoid his lightning souls attack. Also keep in mind that the life leech nerf has had a huge impact on Heavy Strike users. Before the nerf, we continued to leech lots of dmg due to high base DPS, so when enemies got knocked back, we were still leeching. That is generally no longer the case - the knockback effect of HS is almost a build killer. |

I mean, I'm pretty fast at endurance cry - immortal call pressing, but do you think I should swap my spell-totem - summon skeletons for CwDT - Molten Shell / Immortal Call?
Ah really, didn't realise, I mean like I said, it's okay doing maps, I seem to be tanky enough to handle the map mobs, but not always the bosses. Thanks for the help! |

It's very popular to run two CWDT setups - one low lvl (3-5 CWDT) with something Enfeeble and Decoy, then another high lvl CWDT (13-20) with Molten Shell and Immortal Call. Throw enduring cry in there somewhere. Increased Duration works well in the higher lvl one, enduring cry works well in the lower one.
Was never a fan of Skelly Totem. It doesn't live long and takes too long to cast.. only time I ever use it is with faster cast, which is a waste of 3 slots in most cases. |
