Reverse engineering:

66 maps is now more or less equal to a Chisel (stone hammer 20% is like nothing)

Before recipe:
WTB 66 map 0.5 Alch

After recipe:
WTS 66 map 1 Chisel

=> Improve value of 66map x3 or x4

Right or wrong?

66 maps are literally not worth the inventory space. I give all the ones I pick up by accident to noobs, or I vendor them for Scroll Scraps.

Except taking into account the effort of getting the hammer, and spending 4 blacksmith to get 20%. A 66 map is worth less than a chisel - That effort included its still as worthless as before

With some iiq you find tons of hammers in act1 or act2 monkeys.

Also, hammers are available from act1-2-3 normal vendors. Usually you can buy 3-4 of them

Just with 10 level ups:

Ive made a ex or two on chisel crafting.

All you people complaining about the recipe obviously dont have a clue. It is easy "cash" if you know what you are doing...

Create a Scion
Equip Spectral Throw
Equip with some minimal low-level gear, low level uniques, etc.
Run through Act 1 as fast as you can - takes less than an hour

get to Act 2 at level 12 or 13
Buy stone hammers from vendors in act 2 and in Act 1 (they start to appear in act 1 when you hit 14 or so)

Run Riverlands to level up once. This will take 5 minutes
go buy hammers
Run Riverlands to level up once. This will take 5.5 minutes
go buy hammers
rinse and repeat until you're level 20
Delete your character and redo from start

Whenever I'm leveling a new char I find a lot of Stone Hammers as soon as I reach act 2 normal. Especially the first few zones leading up to the Chamber of Sins. I get like 10 or so on every char (I'm not farming for them though I just do the quests then move on to next act to progress character).

Farming the Hammers on a high level character doesn't work well because of the penalties.
