GRIM DAWN Act 2.x here... hmm. waiting time to 1.1 PoE? :)

No persistent, secure online servers. Same as TL, TL2, TQ ... nice for a break, but (to me) without lasting appeal. Better choice than RoS, but no alternative to 1.10. :)

That's awesome ! I "bought" the game 3 days ago to accupy myself until SotV and finished it...
Back to it I guess Btw it's a very fun game, try it out. Of course it's not a multiplayer game but still nice when you get bored with PoE. A true successor to TQ D2 4ever ;)

" +1 From a solo-only ARPG I expect more. Skyrim/Fallout etc. is amazing solo games because they give the feeling that the world is alive. Grim Dawn just feels like any other ARPG, and that is just way too boring when it is offline. Danskere: PM mig, hvis I har brug for en guild.

Thanks for the news! Bought the alpha a while back, played it for a little while but there's not a lot to see yet. Going to play some Grim Dawn in the next days I guess!

" No desync, no economy, no trading. YES PLS! Too bad it'll take another year until GD is actually finished. Shop closed until further notice. Check out my Dominus musical tribute instead:

" It's true - no desync offline. But again, that is offline. Danskere: PM mig, hvis I har brug for en guild.

" Instead you have hex editors, mods that disfigure the game, and a community that all play a different version of the same game. :) I have no desync issues in PoE, but I also don't play melee builds. Trading, I do occasionally and like that I have the option, and an economy gives an online game longevity. There's nothing wrong with GD, I like Arthur (their lead dev), and the game is certainly great for forty or so hours when it's done. But that isn't the kind of experience I look for when I play ARPGs. It may well be me. Ever since Ultima Online in 1997, I have a hard time finding interest in single player games. I enjoy the social dynamics and the persistence. Single player games seldom "grab" me anymore. Your mileage may well vary. Games aren't religions, one can have and follow more than one. For me, though, GD is like all the other ARPGs since D2, but only PoE is like D2. That's all I wanted. |
