Not everyone is a jerk in DayZ and there are people like myself who like to go around and help people by mending broken legs, giving supplies, and inviting them to tag along on adventures through the wilderness.

Don't be one of those people who just takes the word of others without even giving something a chance. Form your own opinion and make your decision from there.

What you are saying is like me saying that the Bugatti Veyron is a slow piece of shit that handles like a brick, even though I have never driven one.

I play DayZ standalone every now and then. It's fun, but it's SUPER buggy. Alpha will be alpha and all that. For those of you who don't want to get killed by bandits, there are ways to play so that you don't ever see another person (mainly by using unpopulated servers). I highly recommend the game, especially since new content is coming (base building!!!) somewhere along the line.

Also for those of you afraid of getting killed repeatedly by bandits: I have been killed MANY more times by ladders and stairs than other players. That's desync in alpha for you though.

Also, that GIF is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.

I can't wait for the hunting and cooking to be implemented in the next content update. We might be lucky and get persistent storage with it also. After that the base building will be awesome. I already have a place in the middle of the woods picked out.
