Enlighten, Enhance, Empower

Do these gems work on each other if they're all above level 1 and linked together? For instance, if I have a level 2 gem of each connected, would that mean that Enhance and Enlighten would be 1 level higher, Empower and Enlighten would have an additional 16% quality and Empower and Enhance would gain experience 12% faster?


Please tell me yes. Pretty please.

They all only affect active skill gems, so no, sorry.

Sadly, you can't Empower an Enhance to give a TON of quality.
Or Enlighten them so you can get those levels a bit quicker.
Very sad.

Kind of makes Enlighten look even LESS useful, considering. If it can't speed these up what good is it? bridging the 19-20 gap on regular skills? Seems to be it.

Oh. Shit. Upon further inspection, the enlighten gem does say "Active" in the description. What a scam...

Enlighten is trash anyways.

Useless gem. It was added as filler. It's almost never worth it to use Enlighten versus leveling another gem in the same slot.

Random thought: While supports cannot support other supports, it would be interesting if there were a vendor recipe that allowed you to "consume" Empower, Enhance, or Enlighten to apply its qualities to another support gem, and grant that gem the tag "Empowered," "Enhanced," or "Enlightened" respectively (preventing further support from that gem).

For example, consuming a level 3 Empower for a level 3 Enhance, adding the "Empowered" tag, modifying it to level 5, raising it's mana cost multiplier to 156%, and adding 73 strength requirement.

Or consuming a level 3 Enhance for an Additional Accuracy gem.. even better, a level 5 "Empowered" Enhance gem.. to raise Additional Accuracy's quality bonus by 40%, raise its mana cost multiplier (none = 100%) to 156%, and add an additional 73 strength and 73 dexterity to its requirements.

While not necessary, and potentially very powerful, I feel its extreme cost might justify the effect.

In my opinion, Enlighten should also work on support gems... Otherwise it really is pretty much trash. Grrr...



Also, I'll be using Empower on my 2 auras sitting in alpha's howl for a level 23 grace and hatred. That's about it.

-Run a 6L weapon with +1 to all gems as your gear swap (2 1h with +1 to gems if you cant afford a 6L)

-Put enlighten in it

-Level up auras to 20 and sell them for 1 ex each. Alternatively you can vaal orb them to try and hit level 21 which will sell for much more.

Pretty much the only use for enlighten.

15% xp is a pretty big difference though, and since you're done leveling them sooner you can start the next 5 faster. In the long run I think enlighten ends up being useful.
