[Theorycrafting] Trypanon + Emberwake build
I was thinking of making a build with Trypanon and Emberwake. Reasoning? Trypanon always crits, so you always ignite stuff, meaning you don't need to waste points on ignite chance and an extra gem socket.
Skill gem would be Molten Strike with WED, Ele prolif, multistrike and faster attacks to offset the weapon speed penalty. Would probably take Avatar of Fire and last gem would be added fire. But I have a few questions: 1. Would Elemental overload work with this build? If yes, that would mean 40% more ele damage, but I'm not sure if it works with melee attacks. 2. Does the Taming work with Emberwake? Would I get the 10% increased damage per stack (meaning at 300 stacks it would be 3k increased damage). 3. Do the orbs from molten strike ignite the target as well? If yes, I could swap one gem to GMP for faster stacks. I'll also try to come up with a minimal tree which I'll post later. Ty for the answers so far.
Rough build Took some accuracy, dunno if I need all of those points, I play mostly RT so dunno how to gauge it. You could move some points and get more hp, more sockets. The fire wheel in the witch area might not be needed. With 10 more points you can travel all the way to Duelist and the the weapon range, nore hp and the armor penalty ignore. Went inquisitor for the elemental resist ignore, since we always crit. Последняя редакция: Effreti#3855. Время: 10 мар. 2016 г., 05:33:25

Your damage is going to be suuuuper low if you rely on Trypanon's physical damage.
You might be able to get away with it if you go something like Pyre, Anger, Herald of Ice, and get as much flat elemental damage and crit multi as possible. Still not convinced it won't be ass though. If you're looking to abuse The Taming with Emberwake in a melee setup, your best bet might be an Elementalist flicker strike build with Oro's. " I'm really hoping that the Inquisitor tree and Elemental overload would make up for the low dps Trypanon. You might be right about the damage, but if I reach like >20k dps with it, I would be a happy panda. |

Maybe going crit stave would be the way to improve DPS significantly. Or go chance to ignite on fast weapon base.

I've always wanted to try an Emberwake build. My idea was more toward Oro's sacrifice Cyclone, the chance to ignite is so high you wouldn't need to rely on crits so you could go RT and not have to worry about Crit AND accuracy which is a big money saver. Also damage is MUCH easier to get due to the sword having very high base damage, whereas Tryp is too low and requires too much investment in to damage to bring it up to a viable level.
However the BIG BIG turn-off for me, is that no matter how smart you get with optimising an Emberwake build. You're never going to be able to do Atziri / Uber Atziri, who is immune to ignite, as your base damage will be too weak and you wont be able to capitalise on your investment into ignite chance =/ But good luck, I hope your base damage will be enough to carry you through ignite immune Atziri, let me know how it goes! |

" Forgot she is ignite immune, this makes me sad :( Might still be a fun build, probably gonna do it closer to the end of Perandus. Oro is a good option, but I already have an oro cycloner, wanted to do something different. But I could hold an oro on swap for Atziri, might work ok. |

Add Marylene's Fallacy
so you have 390% crit multi ! then you only need attack speed and accuracy |

What happens when you use CoC? Will the triggered spells also trigger? Than that's probably the way to go.
