Skin Transfer requirements

Hey there,
I bought a Skin Transfer to apply the "Singularity Platinum Sceptre" appearance to "Mjolner, Gavel" as they both are one hand maces. It doesn't work. ("Not the same type" it said) Can you tell me where it is specified what exactly the same type means? It's an internal tag that separates sceptres from maces, although they are all under one handed maces there are 2 different types of animation one of which are not compatible with the skin(major clipping holding it wrong etc).
