"Don't worry about Chaos Resistance it's not that important"

I remember back when that was the advice given to me as a new player when chaos damage wasn't as prevalent in the game.

I feel like it's probably a duty of mine (ours?) to dispel that silly notion. I saw quite a few people still believing chaos res isn't that important in general chat.

This latest expansion seems to be riddled with machine-gun, chaos damage everywhere.

Shit fucking hurts fucking OW.

Haven't played much since 2.4 but in 2.3, I got to Red Maps and never cared for chaos resists. Sure it hurts more than it did years ago when you could literally sit in a chaos cloud and outregen it. But it's not too bad since it's fairly rare and avoidable. I still prefer it to the garbage 1 shot mechanics like volatile (if you're melee).

Chaos dmg is more important than ever now.

I think one of the guardians does chaos dmg.

I thought -40 chaos resistance would be ok this league, but maps felt pretty rippy.

Now at +57 chaos resis in merciless I just laugh when I fight chaos mobs/bosses. I agree that ignoring it isn't the best advice anymore.

if I don't have chaos resist I run an Atziri's promise flask. Perfect for when you see the line of snakes all start to spit at once, extra dmg/leech also has general use and against chaos bosses the extra damage/leech with the 35 res lets me out leech them

Some of the really early maps have chaos damage which I think is a little weird

Yep... they've added quite a bit of it to the new map bosses. Still... there's other ways to deal with it other than resistances.

Your talking about a game state when the only chaos damage where the vaal constructs, a map mod that had chaos degeneration(global) and maybe a random spider at times, not to mention the vaal constructs tickled compared to their new and optimized brethren.

Then they introduced beyond and the glory days of chaos deeps where upon us.

Never forget the flicker chaos degen aura when they where first released and experienced. Praying that you didn't spam them while slowly crawling your way to merciless docks.

Just to really piss you all off , with that new resist all flask , you can map with uncaped resists now .
