Asphyxia's Wrath Curse spread + freeze
PoE Wiki says, when you kill a frozen monster, it will shatter, what prevents them from spreading on death effects.
Is it also true for Asphyxia's Wrath? Looks very anti synergetic to me since the quiver actually ADDS a chance to freeze. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Asphyxia%27s_Wrath Последняя редакция: RakshasaR#5053. Время: 13 нояб. 2016 г., 12:15:17 Last bumped13 нояб. 2016 г., 18:10:24

What the Wiki page means by on-death effects are the on-death effects of which the creature itself is the source. Things like porcupine explosions, second forms, and leaving corpses are prevented by shattering an enemy with freeze.
All on-death effects caused by a player (which are considered on-kill effects), such as life/mana gain on kill, or the curse spread of Asphyxia's Wrath are unaffected by freeze and will still apply. Последняя редакция: Bardharr#3094. Время: 13 нояб. 2016 г., 13:08:30

Ok, thanks so far, but what confuses me is this line:
" Is this the only exception? Because the woring of Elemental Proliferation sounds similar to Asphyxia's Wrath |

Proliferation is kind of weird, it doesn't actually add any status effects to nearby enemies, it causes nearby enemies to share in the effects of the affected target (corpse). The way this is coded is as a continuous effect, like a torch lighting up a room. If you snuff out the torch you snuff out all the light in the room.
In contrast if the corpse is instead a missile then it doesn't matter if it explodes, it does a one-time instant effect and it's over EDIT: Apparently this is evidence that in Wraeclast, "spreads" and "is transferred to" are completely different mechanics :p Need game info? " Or to use an in-game example: Auras :P " In Path of Exile, if wording is "similar", that's generally not good enough :) Rule of thumb: If two effects have the same functionality, they have the same wording. |
