Vendor recipes worth doing

What are the recipes that people bother doing?

Chaos for unided rares.
Chisels for hammers+maps.

i find the resistance rings vendor recipe useful at times.

Depends on how fast you want to go versus how thorough you want to be.

Some highest-end players don't do any vendor recipes - they just bolt through a million maps a day at twelve seconds per map and count on selling a dozen Cospri's Malices/Mjolnir's/Shav's/whatevers a night to fund their game. If it doesn't go for at least five exalts on the market by itself, they don't pick it up.

Sane people tend to develop their own little rules and find an item filter that matches them. For me personally:

.) 3-slot or 4-slot Chrome items, since chromes tend to get eaten up like candy, especially when Vorici's happy ass gets involved. First to go when I need loot room, though.

.) 6-socket items, for seven Jeweler's. Seven jeweler's is most of a chaos, so those are always nice.

.) Chisel recipe (gavels, crappy maps)

.) quality gems and flasks

.) Unidentified chaos recipe. This is likely the primary moneymaker for anyone who's not a 24/7 streamer and can't manage to scrape up a hundred exalts by day 3 of a league.


I'm one of those crazy yaks who believes that loot exists to be picked up, though PoE throws enough garbage at you that you eventually have to develop some standards if you want to do more than one or two maps a night. I'll grab rare items as I go just to sell for alt shards and such, but I've long since stopped making a habit of grabbing every single yellow that drops.

The regal recipe tends to be weird, though. Half the time I check out currency trade, regals go for less than chaos so doing the regal recipe actively detracts from recipe items you could've used for chaos. The other half the time, regals are worth doing from a pure conversion standpoint even if nobody ever buys/sells the damn things. One of those bits you have to be a little careful of, I guess.

The only vendor recipes that are worth doing IMO are quality gems for Gemcutters, 6S for jewellers, and occasionally flasks for baubles. Everything else is a waste of time if you are playing efficiently.
