Problems using Divination Distillate

I recently acquired a Divination Distillate, and equipped it and tried to use it. It doesn't do anything most of the times, when my hotkey is pressed. Even if I spam the hotkey, it doesn't work. Now, it does work maybe 1 out of 20 presses of the hotkey, but i noticed the buff appears and disappears almost instantly. Is there a bug with it? I have the required level, I tried standing still, even tried to swap it out with different flask slots, and it does the same thing. Any help?

Being a recovery flask, it is only active as long as your life and mana aren't full. As soon as both are full the effect ends.

best way to use this flask is to recover mana using this flask

when you begin to attack you press the flask and the effect should remain active untill you stop attacking and mana goes full; this is what i do and works perfectly

does not work with most melee skills because they are too low mana consumption
