Blood magic or aura?

I have blood magic passive on my marauder.
i have a lot of life leech nodes, and i'm ok('ish) that that.

but i can't use any auras, due to reservation.

do you prefer BM, or auras and mana leech nodes?

Hatred better offensively and defensively (freezes and chills mobs). The area around BM doesn't exactly give us that much more increased life than scion life wheel. Pathing to that area also can be inconvenient. Starforge builds perhaps could use it because it can't deal elemental damage. You can still run up to two auras without reservations with essence wurm ring, but good luck capping your resists.

i rechecked my tree,
and noticed that i took the 3 life passives next to the BM,
and they give me 35% life.
if i'll refund the BM, it will be hard for me to get another 35% life with those refunded points...

In your tree it costs you 6 points for that 35% life behind bloodmagic. This tree will give you 29% life (15% from nodes, 14% from 2 jewels with 7% life roll) and allow to use auras:



Still, your life will be very low, blood magic or not. That's because you have very little +life rolls on your gear. You need to buy items with at least +80 life total on each piece where you do not absolutely need unique.

The Blood Magic keystone is not worth it 99% of time.
Spells and attacks are very cheap these days, so what do you gain at the cost of 2-3 auras?

Sure, it's free damage, and a lot of it.

And you always have room for two auras.
"Hatred + Herald of Ash" fits into any melee build.

Just need a tiny bit of mana leech to sustain your main attack, and (maybe) link your other skills with blood magic gems.

If you have trouble finding leech on gear, instead of taking the BM keystone, take the leech nodes near Duelist: bottom right
(almost every melee build I know takes those life nodes next to them anyway, so it's not that huge of an investment)
