Poe crashes nvd3dum.dll
My game keeps crashing since the last update and the update before that fixxed it for me. Only two things changed are the game version and my nvidia driver, so i changed the driver back to the old one with no effect.
I'm pretty sure something is wrong with my dll or it's just the game but gamefile scan says it's fine nothing is missing. First league that this happend to me not sure what to do. same crash every single time: APPCRASH PathOfExileSteam.exe 0.0.0.0 58c8ad37 d3dx9_42.dll 9.27.952.3001 4a6d13bb c0000005 000de4e7 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 1031 0a9e 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 0a9e 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Windows 7 64bit german version Last bumped20 мар. 2017 г., 14:59:48

Am I misremembering what APPCRASH errors look like, or did you remove the field on the left which explains what we're looking at? I always hate when people edit out information. :/

" this is basically saying that there was a problem with your NVIDIA graphic driver. the game caused a crash to happen and thats the dll that it thinks is the problem. if this is the first time you have seen this dll come up as the problem then it doesn't hurt to ignore it for now and wait to see if the game crashes again. then see if the resulting crash gives you the exact same dll as the problem. if it does then you can consider it an actual issue. if you find that "nvd---.dll" is your problem then redownload your NVIDIA drivers and uninstall your old drivers. then use a program like DDU to remove remnant registry keys. after you do that do a "clean" install on the new drivers.
I removed the nivida driver with the tool again and just installed the newest one. It works no crashes anymore but the game had a patch today as well and i belive that is the reason but who knows.
Windows 7 64 bit newest nvidia driver directx9 no multithreading windowed fullscreen not a single crash today and no disconnects as well. // solved so far |

" is it only when your browser is up? at one time in the past there was a bug that caused very similar problem with flash which may be occurring in the same way. the work around for Chrome was like this.. type in about:settings scroll down and turn off "hardware acceleration" it is similar in Firefox, but since i do not have it i couldn't really tell you where to go anymore.
it's off in chrome and firefox the crash happend with both. The crash happend with the steam and standallone client no difference each on a different ssd both file checked everything ok.
used the content file from the steam version for the standallone version maybe if i redownload the standallone client or steam version the crash will fix itself but i don't have much hope to be honest. |

" its possible, and definitely worth trying. " ..but you did say this here too which is something i consider interesting. you installed your nvidia driver and at least for a while it was fixed. then they implemented a patch and it was broken (supposedly). the most recent patch was this: " so there are again a few things there to try. -first being the obvious. disable multithreading and see what happens after this new patch. -second would be disable the NVIDIA "Threaded Optimization" option and see what happens -third is just try reinstalling the drivers again the same way as before. uninstall. then use DDU. then reinstall as a "clean" install.
