Arcane Surge question

Will Arcane surge 'pass on' the duration tag to any supported skill? I have seen builds using this to add more supports to the Death aura granted by Death's Oath. can the same be done for other skills that don't have the duration tag to begin with..?

Yes

To elaborate a bit, adding Arcane Surge to a skill doesn't add a duration tag to those skills, but it does allow it to be supported by supports that require the skill to have a duration component.

For instance, Righteous Fire has no duration associated with it and as such can't be supported with Swift Affliction. However, if you support the Righteous Fire with Arcane Surge, you will be able to support it with Swift Affliction because it now has a duration component.

So I could support something like Blight or Dark Pact with Arcane surge, and then the % damage bonus from "Reduced Duration Support" would apply to it..?
Blight already has a Duration of its own, so that works regardless of Arcane Surge. Dark Pact, yes, you could get that sweet 19% More Damage :P

I had toyed the idea of putting Dark Pact into Death's Oath since many of the same supports are good for both the death aura and DP.

Now I am thinking of putting DP and cast when channeling in Allelopathy with two good supports and then full doing the recommended six in death's oath to support the aura.

If you have any suggestions for what to use in Allelopathy with DP/Cast when Channeling I would love to hear it, as I am having trouble deciding what would pay the best for both skills.

I am leaning towards: Cast When Channeling + Dark Pact + Void Manipulation and Concentrated Effect. But maybe the best choice would be swapping one of those two for Added chaos Damage, or Decay or even Vile Toxins (since bad guys will always have more than 9 poison stacks with this build.)

Feel free to make suggestions, and if it sounds like a dumb idea please consider how to make the dumb idea as good as it can be. Like fixing up a beater Pinto.
