Question about the Trading Rules (ask for lower price)

Hi i am wondering if it is legal to ask friendly for a lower price. I just ask someone friendly for a lower price and he gave me a rude answer and he was saying i should stop "scamming" or he will report me. Did i do something wrong? What says the Rules about such a case? I can't find anything about that.

there are no hard "rules". How reasonable was your request? Some people are just @$$holes.

Okay i tried to save money and make a good deal, but i only asked 1 time and i was friendly and not penetrant. It was something for about 80c and i asked for 50c. ^^
Perhaps asking for 70c would be more reasonable. :D

In my opinion "scamming" is only when someone put -on purpose- a wrong cheaper item in tradewindow, it has nothing to do with asking for a cheaper price. But - i thought i better ask in forum.

It still depends on the specifics. If it is an item that almost every other copy is that price or higher (baring price manipulation), then 30c cutoff deal is kind of trying to get a steal in my opinion. Furthermore, if its something that just went up a day or two ago, again probably pushing it even more.

But if its something a few weeks/month old, slow moving item and that particular person just decided to be an asshole then yeah, but likely 30c was too big of a jump where maybe prefacing it saying it is quite a bit difference but are open to negotiations to haggle, it might have been interpreted better. But again, even if you did that or similar, they could have just decided to be an asshole.

Secondly, make sure it doesn't say fixed price. If it did but you made an offer anyway, you are the asshole. Period.

- Never haggle if its a foxed price

there are no real fixed "rules" to trading

generally, people want to sell stuff for the price that is listed. you can try to haggle for a lower price if you want - if they like your offer they will accept, if they dont like it they will tell you to fuck off, if you do scummy shit like manipulate the poe.trade message then they will get angry and insult you.

but no, you can not get banned for any of this. worst thing that can happen is that some dude gets mad at you and puts you on his ignore list.
