Wanna-be-howa-but-not-really-sunder-scion

This build is based around the idea of stacking dexterity (instead of int like in howa) and initially I wanted to do something with this (self crafted btw):

But after playing around with it in PoB I couldn't come up with anything great. That's when I started theory crafting for weeks... and was lucky enough to buy this for 22c:

Decent pDPS with the mod I was looking for, enter wanna be howa... but dex:

Basically you want a nice phys dps axe/mace OR if you want to use another skill then you could get a sword/claw.



Stat stick - claw/sword/dagger work great but if you plan on using blade flurry for example then as mentioned above, get yourself a mace/axe as off hand.



I think Starkonja is pretty much best in slot, though if you want massive dps boost, you can get yourself Abyssus. Else just a rare helm with life, dexterity, accuracy/resists as necessary.



Best in slot I think, down below I list couple substitutes.



physical dmg, ele dmg, life, dexterity, can't ask for too much more.



accuracy, life, resists, little bit of physical damage, overall okay ring.



This armour... I crafted myself... I love and hate this thing. It took me about 200 alts and like 5 regals to get 108 life, 11% life and 53 dexterity.... then I decided to slam - got 8 int and 17 cold res. RIP. still okay overall chest but you can use Belly of the Beast, Carcass Jack or a nice rare chest with dexterity, life and resistances.


BEST IN SLOT, this thing gives us accuracy, damage, and MORE life than Kaom's Roots!


Damage, ton of life, bonus elemental protection if you can stack your stats right - though since we are using Kaom's Roots, it doesn't matter too much.


No need for movement speed, since we use whirling blades/leap slam to move around so I think these are pretty good, specially since we do not want to be stunned - ever.




Can substitute some gear such as:

For more life but less dps.


For "better" leech, though with my limited testing I prefer Astramentis.


Just an example of a decent chest with triple T1 suffixes

Crit + attributes, pretty good overall.


Since we lack resists this is where we make up for them. Each of these was about 20c. Pretty crazy if you ask me.


Self found, this one might be pretty spendy if you want to get a similar one.

Swap for bosses/map mods:

You can use melee physical damage support instead of damage on full life support if you are planning on running blood rage. That's about it - I did mess around with ice crash and it felt okay, better on bosses - was able to freeze T15 bosses with easy but that hassle of swapping AoE for Conc gem was not worth it.

I helped Alira as my resistances were terrible since I am using way too many uniques/rare pieces with no resistances.

Haven't tried but I would not recommend phys/ele reflect but if you do play with full conversion skill like ice crash you could do phys reflect maps.
No regen is annoying but fine I swap my fortify for blood magic in my helm, that's about it.

Its a sunder build - its pretty slow at clearing maps, so unless you are doing poor joy rotations and are getting carried... I wouldn't go for it. You can go for the frenzy charges as well as put faster attacks support in your chest instead of hypothermia though to speed up the process.

I think this build can be hardcore viable, specially if you sacrifice little bit of dps for life or just get better gear then what I have. Every jewel can have life on it which would push you close to 7k life alone.
Can do all? bosses, haven't tried uber atziri as I don't have a set atm but I think it should be fine, our "shaper PoB dps is 700k"
