Need some help understanding Blasphemy (+Enfeeble)

I'm still relatively new. I have a decent level Shadow, and wanted to play with a templar. The build I'm playing around with uses Blasphemy + Enfeeble. From what I understand, linking Blasphemy to a curse causes it to act as an aura in close range, and also reserves 35% of your mana. When I link Blasphemy to Enfeeble, it causes Enfeeble to go from a mana cost of 37, to a mana cost of 49% (yes, 49 percent). When I click Enfeeble, it simply casts it as it normally would and uses 49% of my mana. No mana is ever reserved. What am I missing? I tried logging out and logging back in, thinking it was something silly like that. After that didn't work, I tried getting new versions of the gems. It seems like you have Enfeeble linked to some other support gem, possibly Spell Totem? (I am not sure off the top of my head how totem + blasphemy + curse interact, but what you see would be consistent with the behavior of totem auras.)

I actually figured out my problem. Apparently my boots were affecting the gem with a skill they had on them. I tried swapping them to another set of sockets and it worked perfectly, which is when I realized that was the culprit.
