Poet's Pen Questions

Hi, i'm quite new here and now playing as a Poet's pen elementalist (volatile dead).
However, I have try to increase damage for volatile dead and I found that my body armor which increase elemental damage cannot increase the volatile dead damage.

I got "Loreweave Elegant Ringmail" with 45% increased Elemental Damage mod.

when i equip this the avg. damage of volatile dead is not changed. (mouse over the icon on the skill bar)

Can any one point me out what is i missing here?
Is there anything behind the Poet's pen mechanism?

You messaged about 8 different forums with that question. Rough session hey? Poet's casts spells as a trigger. You can't cast spells socketed in the Pen. They are activated by an Attack, not a spell. Check the wiki for cooldown details too.

I don't have a direct answer but I'll try and help.

The tool tips in game don't always give accurate DPS info for certain skills. You have your characters set to private so I couldn't bring up your information to give an accurate answer but I did put Poets Pen and Volatile Dead in Path of Building. I checked the damage for both the spell damage and the corpse explosion, then added the Loreweave as an equipped chest, and it chest did increase the damage of both aspects of the skill. So, the Path of Building tool says it's working for you.
