Build Planning Help, Cold Chaos CC and DoT

Hey guys I'm pretty new to the game but I'm loving it, never looked up any guides or anything however so I'm aware my character probably aint up to snuff. Since I'm allowed a reset I thought I'd try to salvage what I could on her. I'm painfully ignorant to endgame gear and content though so I don't know what would be most effective/needed for the rest of my points. Also using "Meta" builds really kills the fun for me so I haven't looked at any of those either. skills I currently use are:

Blight for left click,

cold snap with elem. proliferation,

freezing pulse with controlled destruction & volley,

frost bomb with controlled destruction & unbound ailments

contagion and despair connected to arcane surge

essence drain & pierce

I know auras are a necessity but I haven't really found any besides a gem that would turn despair into one. Tried that for a while but it was pretty awful.
