Volley Support w/ Soulrend

The new Chaos spell Soulrend currently functions with GMP/LMP but not Volley. Possible bug or intended?

Volley: Supports skills that fire projectiles from the user. Does not affect projectiles fired from other locations as secondary effects.

I understand Volley not working with Winter Orb despite it being a projectile skill that works with LMP and GMP, because the projectiles don't come from the caster - they come from the channeled orb.

Soulrend definitely appears to come from the caster, though. Its LMP/GMP projectile spread isn't changed by casting distance, and I wonder if that is another effect of whatever isn't allowing Volley to support Soulrend.

The skills' gem tooltips imply they should work together without issue, but the support compatibility tooltip indicates they do not. It feels like a jarring mismatch.
