Question about Toxic Rain build

Hello forum.
I am a noob-player in this game and I play according to the guides and now I pumped the hunter through Toxic Rain.
The following question arose - what will give more dps increase in a 6-link bow:
1.Prefixes
+1 to level of socketed gems
+2(1) to socketed bow gems

OR

2.Prefixes
+1 to level of socketed gems
+2 to level of socketed support gems

While the rest of the stats will be +- the same.
I hope I got it right :)

As soon as you get empower gem lvl 3 or 4, the +2 to support gems will provide the same level to toxic rain as +2 to bow gems. "Bow gems" only buffs toxic rain and mirage archer. "Support gems" buffs all supports and through empower buffs toxic rain too. "Support gems" becomes even better if you use awakened gems as they're stronger and scale further than normal supports.

TLDR: Use +2 to bow gems until you can afford empower 3. After than +2 support gems is better.

Yes, I know empower 4 is expensive af, you can use corrupted lvl 3 until then.
