Skeleton Mages vs. Phantasmal Cremation

Hi,

i´m playing a very solid Skeleton Mages build,but thinking about a transition to a Phantasmal Cremation setup with the intention to get a stronger ueberboss killer. My question is: which build ist stronger with a budget of 150ex when it comes to ueberbossing?An what about a budget of 250ex?The damage calculation of the cremation build is a mess in my opinion, so please leave your comments if you have experience with this topic.

Phantasmal cremation is the clear winner. While Skele Mages is a viable starter (at least for this league) it is expensive on the top end, while Cremation can be maxed out earlier. Also, the cremation and unearth-setups are incredibly tanky while still maintaining a pretty ridiculous dmg-uptime.

There´s no doubt in my mind which one I´d choose.

give phantasmal cremation a try, don't try to min max it yet.

Get an idea how the build plays; the playstyle is not for everyone imo. I tried it. It's good dps, with decent tier B/C clear, but the 2 button style and the need to aim unearth is just not for me.

Skelmage is way easier to play IMHO. But it has terrible clear speed. For an exclusively uber boss killer, I'd pick skelmage. The DPS is real DPS, even while moving to dodge boss attacks etc. They autoaim so no need to find where the boss is in case of Sirus etc.

The sustain is much better on phantasmal cremation though, so it is more forgiving if you get hit or stand in bad spot.
