monesy steal loot slots?

It seems to me that there is less loot in the new league. I have a theory that mobs drop a limited amount of loot depending on various conditions. My theory is that the new money from the league's cat network is eating up some of the loot spots. Figuratively speaking, the mob should drop 7 items. but in league 3 it comes in the form of money. Theoretically, this could be a bug in the mining algorithms.
