Broken gem

I have somewhat unstable CPU (Core i9 14th gen) which somtimes causes crashes. I got such crash recently while playing PoE2 but that's not the problem. The problem is that seemed to brick one of my gems - Flame Wall. It can't be added to panel and its description is broken - sometimes it shows nothing, sometimes it shows description of a different skill. Problem is specifically with this gem - I got a new Flame Wall of same level and it wasn't broken. My own gem is also working for others - only broken for me. Gem is in tab 18 on this account.

Yeah, this is the exact same issue I started having after messing with the auto weapon swap feature

Having the same issue with my Permafrost Bolts. I am pretty sure that this first occured after I upgraded it to lvl 12.

Found the reason for that happening: the weapon in my weapon set 1 has a STR mod on it which allows me to use the helmet that I have equipped that has INT on it, but the weapon in set 2, to which the Permafrost Bolts gem was bound, doesn't have it so swapping to it would "unequip" my helmet and prevent me from using the skill because the attribute requirements wouldn't be met. Still a fairly unclear interaction and also, the UI for the skill gem would bug out and not show the correct info card when trying to get a breakdown of the skill stats (would show either the blank character stat card or the description of the skill gem slotted above the bugged one) and checking different weapon sets wouldn't work because, apparently, the skill selected was not Permafrost Bolts but some other one. Fixed it by getting enough Strength on the passive skill tree.

Can confirm. Also happened to me with the weapon-swap feature, also self-solving requirements on offhand slot, juggling some attribute gear on-and-off helped it repair. Thanks!

Happened to me to with Shock Wave Gem! First slots weapon had the needed dex requirement but second slots weapon didn't. So Juggling and trying different combinations it bricked. In di end I couldn't repair it and sold it. The buyer told me that for him everything was fine. Here is the picture https://i.imgur.com/YYan8Xn.jpeg

Im having the same issue.

Spark is a 4 socket gem and when i place it into my gem slots it doesnt show up on my cast bar options, it also doesnt show a tooltip for damage.
I made a new spark gem and that one works fine. but i also spent 30 ex on a extra socket.

Alright, I figured it out.

My gem "broke" when I was experimenting with weapon swapping.

The issue seems to occur when you unlink both W1 and W2, then swap weapons multiple times. This causes the gem to lose its assigned weapon, but the problem is hidden.

To fix it:

1.Craft a new gem of the same type.

2.Swap it multiple times in the skill panel(with the broken gem equipped) until the broken gem displays W1 and W2 again.

3.You’ll notice that both W1 and W2 are unchecked—simply check them, and the problem is solved.
