Controller Item and Environment Interaction

There is a big issue with controller item pick up and environment interaction. It seems to be a function of how close enemies are. So if an enemy is right next to you, even one, you are unable to highlight an item to pick up or interact with anything. It makes the monsters target priority, but doesn’t give you an option for anything else. This feels terrible that I need to chase down a single super speedy ranged monster to pick up items. Worse yet is if the monster is right on the edge of allowing you to highlight the item, the targeting will skip around and it again feels terrible.

Specific example with trial fail: while running the sanctum lab (barf, btw), I had the floor with the exploding crystals. It got to a point where I was chasing around a few super fast, ranged monsters and at the same time was unable to select the crystal to progress. Then it just timed out and blew up. Awful.

The strange part is I don’t think this is an issue on M&K. Looks like people can click on whatever, regardless of monster proximity, so not sure why controller is set up this way.

Totally agree. I was specifically looking if such thread exists.

It could be cool to at least force it with additional button.

Coming back to the game after some time off and this interaction is still terrible.

The problem is item cycling and target selection is done with the same analogue stick. Move item cycling to D-pad and I think this goes away.
