The ascension, is disaster

It`s spend too much time. And if you fail. Maybe 30 to 60 minutes just gone.

1st time, I have a battle with the final boss, that scorpion.
I`m healthy, but the honor just gone, so I failed.

2nd time, just win that scorpion and left like 400 honor. BUT that scorpion left pool of posion.
Yeah, I`m just walk maybe 2 step, then the honor just gone.Just dead.

Why design like this? Im win that battle for maybe 45 minutes, the boss dead, then Im dead.Why you guys tought that people like this?

You tell me, how long to get though the 3rd ascension you design? How many times we have to try to get though the 3rd ascension you design?

NOT FUN. NOT FUN AT ALL.

Agreed. Why do we need a SECOND 'health bar' for this? Dying should be the only punishment. Why does GGG want to stop us from progressing in their own games?
Sanctum has always been "anti-ARPG". You build your character with a balance between offenses and defenses through carefully planning your tree and specialize your gear. Then, they throw a mechanic at you that ignores your character's defense. It doesn't feel good, especially when it's a core mechanic of the game.

I wonder what people would feel if they made a mechanic that ignored your offense. Everyone does the same amount of damage versus this boss, no matter their build, class or gear.

Honor is not doing what it is supposed to.

Unless it's task is to remind players not use non-evasion, melee characters; in which case please just say that at character creation.

Suggested fix: retain the event-specific resource but make it a meter that influences (not determines, influences) drop rarity or something. This way melee could merely be second-class characters rather then excluded from content with a pew pew to save them.
i finally did the 4th ascension with melee build on lvl 77 with lvl 90 char, had like 200 honor left because of evasion/es. 75% reduction and a lot of + incrased honor based on hp ( bar had like 6k total ).

the most frustrating part for me was, to do the 3 bosses + 3x10 boring floors over and over again.

if i didnt have to run though all 39 floors again each try i wouldnt complain half as much. Especially for each character (?).

for my second char i will do ascension 1-3 and ignore the 4th until the process is improved.

Also very frustrating:
The endboss had this mechaic where time was slowed and you had to collect hourglasses? i did not understand, what to do on my frist try and the boss just onetapped me. In this run i had great boons and like 5k honor left and most likely had killed the boss if not for this mechanic.

I already stated it on other posts. I still don't understand how GGG while making such an awesome game decided to ruin it with these cookie cutter ascendancy trials. They are indeed shooting themselves in the foot with this lazy design after all the hard work they have put in the rest of the game.

While POE2 is one the best games I've played in a long time, the ascendancy trials are exactly the opposite: They are the most unfun I have ever played. They feel like a chore.

Nobody likes on-death effects of any sort.

On the other hand by Act2 Cruel difficulty one lesson to learn is that you shouldn't be scared of most monsters while they are alive -- it's when they're dead that you have to worry.

While my run was doomed [I chose a bad mod] I had beaten a level in Trial of Chaos but one of the famous "on death" effects got me even when the monsters were being wiped from the screen as level was completing.
