Please for the love of all that is good fix the aiming system

The easiest and simplest fix is to literally just target the closest monster, instead of the one that's sitting somewhere off your screen, so your left there attacking air for 5 minutes straight. I love this game to bits but this has to be by far the worst targeting system that has ever been conceived
