Ryzen 7 5700X3D issue

2 days ago I upgraded my CPU from Ryzen 3600 to 5700X3D and started experiencing sudden crashes in maps. The instance remains open after restarting, so it's not as painful, but it keeps repeating. The performance does not deteriorate but the application freezes for a second and closes. I didn't notice any problems in any other game.

I had that problem aswell after a few hours of playtime on my 5800X3D. Switching renderer to Vulkan fixed the issue for me.
X3D chips require a different scheduler which can only be achieved with basically a clean Windows install. It is not advisable to just dump one as an in-place upgrade without at least DDU'ing old chipset drivers and getting newer ones installed after to ensure your power profile, Xbox game bar and other random stuff they changed in hardware are getting corrected.
I'm running a 5800X3D and had consistent issues with Path of Exile 1 about a year ago where the game would crash randomly. When PoE2 released, I ran into the same problem until I used a task scheduler + PowerShell combo to always launch PoE with cores 2–15 only. That seemed to keep it stable.

Now that I’ve gone back to PoE1, the same instability is happening again. However, it looks like GGG pushed an update where instead of outright crashing, the game now freezes, then transitions into a load screen and eventually reconnects. It’s a slightly better experience, especially if you’re playing solo, but I’d still prefer if it didn’t happen at all.

As for the comment that the 5800X3D uses a different Windows scheduler due to its cache structure... even after doing a clean Windows install when I upgraded to this CPU, the issue persisted. Shrug.

Still holding out hope for a real fix eventually but I'll probably go back to using a scheduler + powershell or something like process lasso to keep things stable for now.
