How does the mana reservation reduction really work?
So today after calculating some stuff I was sure I could run 3x 40% auras and 1x 30% aura from my mana.
To begin with, I run reduced mana gems on all 4 of them that reduce the cost to 73%. In addition i respecced some stuff and picked up 2x 5% reduced mana reserved nodes. The way I thought it worked was (40+40+40+30) * 0,73 * 0.9 = 98.55% As I saw it really doesnt seem to work that way since the auaras say that 40% ones reserve 27% and the 30% one reserves 19% each, actually bringing me up to exactly 100%. Would be glad if some1 could point out to me what I was calculating wrong or how it actually works. IGN

could be that each aura is calculated individually and due to rounding you end up with 100%
I run 3x40%+1x30% with red mana lvl17 and 3 points in reduced mana reserved with your lvl18 red mana gem it's close - just get 1-2 lvls more on it and you are fine |

" 1-2 more levels at that level is a long time |

" If you calculate them individually, the sum will still be the same. I tried it out and it's actually logic. IGN

" I said due to rounding. maybe each 40% aura ends up with taking 26.516%, gets rounded to your showed 27% and that is exactly the difference between your calculated 98.55% and the 100% you need. |

40 * .73 = 29.2
29.2 * .9 = 26.28 Why it gets rounded up to 27 is beyond me. The 30% one should accurately round to 20 since it is 19.71. If using normal rounding, this should put the total at 98%. |

" a lot of formulas don't use normal rounding. in this case i'm guessing everything rounds up. |

They do round up in this case, the logic being that your reduction isn't enough to take it to down the next percent, so it doesn't. A whole bunch of stuff in PoE works that way, take Purity for example. It can be annoying, but it is what it is.

just get alpha's howl.

" Alpha's Howl would be just a waste since I'm a templar and I do not need the evasion and also because it's pretty overpriced. I'd rather have +300 hp than +600 EV. IGN
