I give up, crash after crash after crash
For 613.8 hours I have put up with crash after crash. It's either loading maps or loading the freaking intro screen when you first start up the game.
I started playing on a 5800x and a 4080. Performance was crap in maps so I felt like it was time to upgrade to a 9800x with the same 4080 and a fresh Windows 11 install. Still.....crash after crash after crash. Kept putting up with it... Was hoping by now POE would fix this problem that so many are having. They haven't. I was hoping windows would release some windows 2h24 fix for it. (I downloaded the preview one that just came out sunday). It hasn't fixed anything. I was hoping for Nvidia to release a new driver that would fix it. They did and it didn't fix it and actually is much worse now. I'll crash 10 times in a row trying to open this game. But I'm done now. I love this game but GGG doesn't love my AMD computer. So I'm done trying. I don't know if this is a bug or just a complete failure. Nonetheless I shall post it in "bug reports". i got same problem here. Me, you and thousands of other players, and it's very strange why GGG are still unable to fix a problem occurring to so many players.

I am in the same boat, and the lack of acknowledgment from GGG is brutal.

" it's neither an nvidia, or a windows issue. its an issue with GGG's game if it was either of the previous, amd gpu's wouldnt be crashing and neither would linux users or me (windows 10) until i was forced to recently update to win11, no change still fucked. |

I've tried every fix and setting in forums and on youtube. The game still locks my entire PC and have to hard boot it everytime.
I did find a temporary solution. Disable engine multithreading. The framerate sucks at 30 fps, but no crashes or freezes. GGG fix this please. Win 10 I9-10900K nvidia 3080 32 Gb ram |

I always had daily crashes (D3D12 failed to create resource for texture) for sometimes and was just about open the game again and play for some hours till another crash, but after 30jan, not only the game crashes, but it freezes my pc, the windows show an error blue screen and restarts... currently cant play the game.

Update: set the graphics to deafult and it stopped the crashes/pc restarts.
Something about the FPS above 60 was making the crashes here. Update 2: After 2 hours it started to crash and restart my pc again, now happens each 10min, cant play. Последняя редакция: Tisze_Queyk#1669. Время: 3 февр. 2025 г., 21:30:15

If you are running an Nvidia card try rolling back to the Nvidia 560.94 driver released in August 2024. I initially had entire system freezes which rolling back Windows 2024h2 seemed to fix the freezing, but it was replaced with crashes to Windows. I eventually read that others have had success with Nvidia 560.94 driver. I rolled back to these drivers and haven't had a single crash/freeze with these drivers (40+ hours of playing). I did try the new 572.16 drivers which were recently release, but had a crash to desktop within 1 hour of running these drivers. Rolled back to 560.94 drivers again and haven't had a crash in over 20+ hours. It makes me think that Nvidia introduced an issue sometime after the 560.94 drivers which is causing the crash problem in POE2 and they haven't found/fixed it yet.

Hello guys,
I developed a proof of concept to try mitigate this problem. The main idea is to select the process that you want and set a CPU limit to it. If the process reachs that CPU limit it will kill the app. I've being using since i finished develop it, didn't had to hard reboot. It wont make your game smooth, or crash proof, but at least I hope it does the same that did to me, avoid needing to hard reboot. It's not beautiful, you have to select your process everytime, but I wanted to test it as quickly as possible and publish to help another ones which are facing the same problem as I'm. Let me know if you have any problem, if helped or not till the problem is fixed. https://github.com/dev-vinicius-andrade/cpu-process-monitor/releases/tag/0.0.1 |
