Skip Trial of Ascendancy via Multiplayer

I was able to accidentally skip the second trial of ascendancy and get the passive points without actually completing the trial.

Leading up to this, I was attempting the trial of ascendancy with a friend. We were in their instance of the game, when they died. This prevented me from progressing further into the trials. As we were done with our play session, we both logged out.

On logging back in several hours later, I found that if I entered the teleporter, rather than being at the beginning of the trials, it placed me in the treasure vault room, where I was able to click on the shrine. As a result I was able to ascend without actually beating the boss. Additionally, I still have my quest version of the ascendancy trial.

This seems unintended.
