ascent to power quest stuck act 5

The ascent to power quest is stuck at search traitor's passage, and killing Balbala the Traitor isn't dropping Balbalya's Barya. This stops me from being able to compelete the third ascendancy. I've seen this posted multiple times, lets get a fix on this game breaking bug please.

This is a quest to get Ascendancy points. You can do it later, or skip it and get points in the Trial of Chaos.
The description of the quest is incorrect. You don't need to search Passage or kill Balbala. Known Issues "You just need Djinn barya (random drop) with the correct number of trials and complete Sekhema's trial. |

Is there an official post saying this is the case beyond saying it is 'misleading?' I've seen several other possible solutions posted around, and it is impossible to tell which is correct, including that it doesn't drop because of certain bugs, or getting a bugged version of the quest because of a death, or because the item dropped twice in normal difficulty so the game thinks it won't need to drop you one in nightmare, or that you can fix it by going back to act2 normal, or by which waypoint you use, etc. Having it bugged with the actual solution being this nebulous makes things just not fun.

There is only one location "Trial of the Sekhemas" and it is located in Act 2.
The quest barya drops from Balbala only before the first trial in act 2 and is called Balbala's Barya. After the first quest completion, Djinn Barya (random drop) are used. 2nd ascendancy - Djinn Barya with 2 trials lvl 45+ 3rd ascendancy - Djinn Barya with 3 trials lvl 60+ 4th ascendancy - Djinn Barya with 4 trials lvl 75+ |
