stone charm aka. anti-stun charm not working gets me killed again. are any charms working?

still getting stunned, shocked, frozen, etc... are any charms working at all? got stun locked this time. the thing is upper left show's it's been triggered but it's clearly not working. same for the freeze charm. does it not negate the initial effect? if so, then charms are virtually pointless. is this the intended effect?

ps. i see i've complained about this before.
