Charged Staff support gem bug

When trying to put support gems into Charged staff skill I'm getting the message:
"- This support can't be socketed into this skill"
- for all support gem options (including non-recommended gems), except those support gems I already have in use. But I can without any problem craft the support gem separately and then drag it into the support slot through the gem menu [G].



Adding or removing support gems from the skill didn't make the bug go away, but the moment I used a Lesser Jeweler's Orb on the skill gem, the bug dissappeared.



Additional info for recreating the bug:
- The Charged Staff skill gem used was an unmodified freshly crafted level 10 skill gem and the support gem was a level 3 uncut support gem.
- Performed on a level 41 Invoker with 140str, 86dex, 83int.
- Support gem capacity str(4/28), dex(8/17), int(4/16).
- I have Gemcutting Restrictions setting disabled and Equipping Restrictions setting enabled in options.
