Cannot proceed in Chaos trial after blinking up the platform

With Blink spirit gem you're able to blink between different elevation levels inside the chaos trial. After blinking up the exit path before trial completed, I got down by getting on the elevator and stepping onto the button, which lowered me down. After completing the challenge, however, the button in the elevator remained pressed in and I was not able to use it to go up to proceed to the next room. Lever was not functional either, nor was I able to blink up at this point.
