Traveling into an other players nonexistent portal

My friend and I logged on and he tried going into a portal that said was mine but i didn't have a portal as I just logged in. As he went into the portal that didn't exist his game went stuck on a loading screen and disconnected him from the servers. He is now unable to connect to the servers no matter what character he plays on. If he does somehow manage connect it will let him only travel in the current room he is in and if he tries to leave/teleport he gets disconnected again. The game will also display that he is online while he isn't online as his client isn't even open. The game is unplayable in a whole for him and we have been unable to find fixes online.

EDIT: Found a temp fix if my friend creates a new instance of the location he wants to travel to it will work until his old instance is closed

Try having him changing gateways at the login screen. Just an idea , no idea if it work :)
