Building Wealth, What items to pick up?

In Standard trade league when trying to build wealth, what items should I be picking up and what items should I be leaving on the ground in the name of speed?

*CONTEXT* I never played PoE1 and am learning the economy for the first time.

I am currently running T15 maps trying to progress to the point where I can just farm simulacrum, breachstone and pinnacle bosses. I still need to build a fair bit of wealth to afford the gear necessary to do that, however. Right now I am picking up all rares, quality items and socketed items but it feels like I have to go back to my hideout every 45 seconds to disenchant and dump to my stash. Should I just be IDing the rares throwing trash ones on the ground, relying on the other wealth I pickup to be able to trade for regal shards?

I have been keeping an eye out for any white top tier expert chest armours (anything with a built in implicit) and been rolling them with orbs of transmutation, then if the first stat is kino adding an augmentation and if again kino a regal. Rarely do I get 3 kino stats doing this but when I do I slam it with exalts and try to sell it. I am doing the same process with bows and sceptres as I play a ranger and which, but I don't feel comfortable doing this for other weapon or shield classes as I'm not sure what I'm looking for. As well I only feel comfortable crafting jewellery to sell for the classes I'm playing as I'm not certain what other classes would need. While this strategy seemed good on paper, I'm not sure it is building my wealth as intended. Am I wasting my time doing this? Are there obvious weapon or jewellery items I should be targeting? Should I just be running through maps, picking up only currency and higher tier rares? What is the best strategy to build my wealth?

I am fairly new as well.

I am now at the point where I only pick up goodish rares and if its not worth selling (i.e. worth more than 20 Ex on trade) I sell them for gold to us for Alva transactions or gambling.

Leave Blues on the ground unless they are specific to your build or some of the meta builds. You will pick up more Trans and Alts that you don't need to disenchant (except for Uniques to get Chance Shards).

Use NeverSink to build a good Loot Filter. Start with Semi-Strict while you get use to it.
This version has "evolved" more than we are used to seeing in a PoE 1 league. The price fluctuation of actual currency items is ridiculous, but we can expect GGG to curtail this with applicable currency dumps in future versions. I found most uniques are worth little more to sell than the disenchant value, and by now most of them are sell for significantly less.

Unless you want to spend a lot of time nitpicking rares, place them in a dump tab heavily overpriced and then drop that price every few hours of gameplay. If you price something and receive several instant offers, you can look into repricing the item, but in general everything should start for more. Every few days I'll take anything I bothered picking up and placing them in a 5 div stash tab, that gets reduced until I decide the trade time would no longer be worth it.

Whereas item quantity is king in PoE 1, here you want item quality. Quantity is good when you can get it, but upgrading those transmutes to regals to exalts to chaos to divine, etc is going to net you the most profit. Get a proper Atlas setup for your ability, juice maps to a comfortable playstyle, and remember about 99% of all good stuff comes off rares (I expect that to change in 0.2).
