Arbiter...
Finally I have reached the Arbiter, but the fight itself was so bad I will drop the game for now, because I lost the will to push further.
I understood the mechanics for the second try, but still died from the Flameblast Hallways 2 times with 140% movement speed and roll, because I arrived at the edge of the hitbox due to the far safe point spawn.. Also, I had similar issues with the Flame Seeds, which started to spawn on the edge of my screen, which in the first place I barely noticed first and second it was crazy far away my current spot, so instadie, again. I have died from this attack 2 times again. Because I had huge damage and got the boss under five sec to 10% HP, once it started to the Flame Seeds with the Sword Slam or some sword attack which hit the seeds safe zone just in the middle.. was really annoying die again. After this enjoyable fight I went to check for some guide and that was even more confusing, as when I fought with the boss also saw the purple and different colored balls, which dind't understand at all. I think it's really unintuitive their role as my first thought was to avoid them at all cost.. which would be a normal reaction in an endgame fight. Overall I reall didn't like most of the mechanics and the boss in overall. I hope there will be some changes, at least in the Flameblast's width or smaller changes, like the timeframe between seeds. However it would be much better to rethink some of these mechanics. Last bumped18 апр. 2025 г., 14:13:51

+1 arbiter mechanics sux tbh that's the only boss that i know all the mechanism but still can't avoid them (i mean consistently) . I just do it with char i know have enough dps to bypass the trash mechanism. The visibility is to low and the pace probably to fast.

This fight currently sucks, it goes against your natural intuitions too much, I'd try it again and again if it were free. I generally don't like bosses that almost require you to do research to beat, and then it's still super hard after that, AND you're gated on limited resources to start the fight.
Way too much. Trade league, I say go for meta one-shot and wait for future updates. |

" Imagine someone going into this totally blind, just playing the game semi casually.. it's such a brutal fight with too many one shots and GGG apparently expects the player to know it all by heart despite them going in for the their attempt. |

Only did Arbiter once into the corridor phase. Failed. Since then I avoided him. Next thing I know is that it felt good to just pop him. But there was no learning curve for me but oneshot or the other way around.

My experience is that they need to work on this boss a bit.
Seed drop is horror if you are bellow 30% movement speed if they are spread far apart... you just cannot make it in time Hallway phase is also no go without speed since corridors spawn very fast and without speed and super reflexes.. not working for me. If they make it so if you are very close to the corridor you take lower damage, maybe it would be ok. This way, if you're not smack in the middle of the effect, you are dead... Or make corridor a bit wider. I did the fight with cast on shock spark archmage and kill it in two hits, but with my minion build (with no uber end game gear) I failed. |

I felt like I was being trolled first time I faced arbiter. A mechanic where standing near the flaming ball of doom is the safe zone? there's nothing intuitive about that at all. At least with eater of worlds in poe1 the maven yells at us to run towards the scary orbs of doom.
So now my winning strategy is: -Attack arbiter once. -If still alive -> log out. -repeat until dead. (if you log out during the hallway mechanic the fights pretty much lost) "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."

It is by far the worst boss fight in the game and probably even the worst they ever came up with. Sirius was bullshit already, but Arbiter takes the cake.
I hate one-shot mechanics with a passion but I could live with them happening once in a while, but not 8 or 9 times in a row. Fuck that! If I want shit like that I go play Geometry Dash... |

With Sirus in poe1 you can gat away with decent gear. I've played with several characters with 80max res, chaos res and you can even survive DIE beam...
In POE2 arbiter fight, even with 6k mana, MoM, Eldritch battery, max res (chaos res is not maxed, but this is fire dmg) you still get one shot. On my minion build, even with decent chaos res, max res and 8K ES (without overflow of ES) I get one shot. It is telegraphed, but you just cannot make all the dodges. Getting one shot is really not fun. I have a health bar. I have resistances. I want my defenses to mean something. After investing so much into survivability I expect the HP/ES/Res to do something for me.
Even ignoring that the Arbiter makes one of the core mechanics of the game useless, the fight is still terrible, because every attack is so hard to read/avoid: - the flaming ball of doom, constantly drops offscreen, or the Arbiter body blocks you - the other flaming ball of doom gets combined with the get "FU in face" laser beam: if you move out - you die to the ball, if you stay still you die to the laser - the corridor of not-flame is also really hard to find in time and react In summary I think this fight, in its current state, doesn't fit within the game at all. |
