Howdy there GGG team!

While I know you are hard at work and you will build an awesome game here are my 5 cents of the current state of the game.

Leveling-up experience

Besides the good stuff like story, graphics, animations, etc there is a big problem that comes from gameplay. It still feels too complex from the start and clunky most of the time and that is because in order to level up you need to use besides one to 3 skills also actions like Parry, Block and Roll which all bring a lot in terms of complexity for let us say act 1.

Maybe a good idea would be to graduate introduce them and let the player chose their own gameplay style instead of trying to impose them all onto him in order to even start feeling good.

The way skills are presented leaves a lot to desire as although many they feel soo much tied to their classes when in truth they are NOT, as they are mostly tied to the weapon used and to the attributes and level requirement.

In your tutorial you DO NOT enforce the fact that you can bind weapons to skills and can and is actually even expected to used different set of weapons in order to complement and be able to graceful combine skills and abilities such that you have a smooth leveling experience.

Most players also do NOT understand that once every few levels 2-6 they should upgrade their gear in order to use the newly bases that can also be found at shops and thus be more consistent with new requirements of the zone they are in.

In terms of the testing on dev side I strongly believe you mostly play in CO-OP mode and for co-op play the game is fine but solo is NOT what you believe it is in terms of leveling experience and corroborating that with the fact that you do nerf stuff way in advance of offering solution in your patches and DO NOT explain that to players results in a bad received update.

Hope you have an awesome weekend and fix the issues!

If we ignore the clearly flawed balance and delude ourselves into thinking that they will in fact eventually patch it, even when they are currently nerfing skills that were already considered incredibly weak. What you are underlining is not a communication issue. Its a design issue.

I am also a long time supported. I played PoE 1... enough. PoE 2 outside of pure RNG does not offer any real mitigating factors in upgrading your gear. Gold during your first character progression is scarce. So scarce that a full act clear, selling everything after portaling to town will net you.... 2~ amulet purchases! Ofc you don't go for that, you spend it on random weapon rolls, because checking the actual vendor for weapons will 99% of the time present you garbage. So what if none of that garbage is an upgrade? Well loot is more or less ruthless, so relying on dropping the base item you need is rather unlikely (this is going to get worse as more bases are introduced, flails, daggers), so what do we do? Trade. That is literally the only option you have.

Lets see what PoE 1 has to offer.
Vendors that reset stores after level ups.
More item drops overall.
More vendors in general.
Vendor recipes.
Currency that allows for low level crafting: alterations, scours, orb of binding, essences, whetstones (In poe 2 after clearing a full act I did not get enough to 20% quality an item)

All of this quickly stacks up, and lets players actually decide on what avenue of improvement they want to choose. Meanwhile in PoE 2 I decided to use an alch orb because I was getting desperate, and then proceeded to not get a single white spear drop... and no scours means I can't even reroll the one I have.
Honestly...they will probably go the route of Diablo4. Come Monday or next week they will have to walk back this whole patch. If not a lot of casual players will just leave.
I believe the biggest letdown is that the "whole" vision is NOT shared with us players and it looks like is going to be another Flavor of the Month type of game witch is bad =/

So how do you suggest players actually do this?
Let’s start in Act 1.
Options for weapon upgrades:
•Lucky drop - you want to depend on luck or farming same low level mobs over and over to progress? Exciting!
•Renly - he needs to have your base type and decent mod & you need gold to afford it. Farm more and hope you don’t level to reset the inventory.
•Crafting - with what materials? The lucky base drop and getting lucky with a transmute?
•Gamble - you’ll never have the gold and you still need to be lucky if you somehow do.

PoE 1 had this cool feature called a vendor recipe that filled the void. It wasn’t the best item you could get but it filled the void if you weren’t getting drops and allowed you to progress more smoothly.

I got lucky with Renly on start. Got a very nice phys roll spear and was able to vendor all my gear at the time to afford it with 8 gold left over. I was actually doing damage without needing to RSI my hands into oblivion. Not everyone gets that fortunate and it feels bad when you don’t.

I gave up ultimately due to constant crashes as I don’t play games to be frustrated with awful QA and build quality. Maybe next release will improve things.
