Zalmarath boss is bugged on controller

When fighting zalmarath at least on ps5 with a controller, you end up standing there attacking him for 20 minutes while he takes zero damage because aiming is bugged or something, so you waste a bunch of time doing nothing - I believe its due to the auto aim or something with controllers.
