Improve Skin Transfer microtransaction!

Why is the skin transfer system so confusing?
It's frustrating that it only works on one piece of gear and then it's done.

A better system would let you consume an item to unlock its appearance permanently, adding it to a cosmetic library. Once unlocked, you could apply that look to any suitable gear whenever you want. If you needed another copy, you could just consume the same item again.

This would make the feature more consistent and fair. Even Diablo manages this more smoothly. GGG, this really needs some attention.
