Greatwood Totem Legionaire
Hey everyone
I just came here to share my current build that I am playing with, but also explain why the Greatwood Support is actually a very powerful addition to most, if not all totem playstyles. It is not a finished build, but hopefully it can give you some ideas on your next totem run. So what is Greatwood Support? Simply put, the Greatwood Support add more Area of Effect (5% per limit), more Damage (10% per limit), and more life (10% per limit) to a totem based on the totem limit (max 4), but in turn drops the max totem count for that skill to 1. With a limit count of 4, you get a single totem with 20% more AOE, 40% more damage, and 40% more life. Here is where I feel most people see that as a bigger tradeoff then what it is. I think a lot of people see the LIMIT 1 TOTEM and dismiss the outright as a net loss. The fact is however, the support limits 1 totem FOR THAT SKILL. It DOES NOT LIMIT YOU to 1 totem. You can use other totem skills in at the same time and the one with the Greatwood Support. You have to diversify. Let me set up an example My Gemling Legionnaire currently uses 3 totem skills. I also took Gem Studded in my Ascendancy that allows me to use the same support gem on different skills. * Ripwire Ballista: Does not use the Greatwood support so I can field multiples of them * Artillery Ballista: Greatwood Supported. Limit 1 * Ancestral Warrior Totem---Molten Blast: Greatwood Supported. Limit 1 * Rapid Shot Single target high damage for Rares and Uniques * Siege Cascade For pack killing On the Passive Tree, I am going Avatar of Fire as all but 1 of my skills is fire based. I am also STR and Life Stacking that is allowed by the Gemling Legionnaire node Enhanced Effectiveness, with as much life regen as I can get my hands on. With this setup, I currently can field 4 Totems as the same time, 2 of which benefit from the Greatwood Support. 2 Ripwires go down first for croud control, then 1 Artillery, and finally 1 Molten Blast Totem. From there I use Siege Cascade or Rapid Shot based on the situation. I also plan on using the different totems to support one another once I unlock more support slots. Molten Blast can cause fire exposure with quality, and will most likely set it up for more chance to ignite, while Artillery ballista and Rapid Fire with more damage to ignited enemies. Just spit-balling it here. Anywho, if you made it this far thanks for giving it a look over. If you have any suggestions or questions let me know. Might post a full build further down the line, but for right now have fun out there. Last bumped15 апр. 2025 г., 00:30:48

You should start with the "Button W" problem, so people do not waste their time.
This is deal breaking issue for many players. |

Maybe I'm missing something here but... Support gems cannot be in two different skills, right ? So I don't know how you can have 2 totems supported by Greatwood Support gem. Overall, I don't see the appeal for your main totem. Adding a totem is like a 100% more damage multiplier. And Greatwood is nowhere close to achieve that. That being said, I can totally see it used on a totem you use as support (like your Ripwire Ballista).

I stated how to use the same support on 2 different skills in the middle of the post. It as a feature of the Gemling Legionare Ascendancy quoted below "I also took Gem Studded in my Ascendancy that allows me to use the same support gem on different skills." The reason I tried it was to experiment with it a bit. Also depends on how many totems you currently have to how much of a damage modifier you are talking about. Going from 1 to 2 totems is a 100% damage modifier. Going from 2 to three totems is a 50% modifier. Going from 3 to 4 is a 25% modifier. I still get those overall damage increases, but the gem provides additional. I also get the 20% aoe increase and the 40% life increase that I don't get for just adding another totem. Helps out during large fights. and I don't feel like I need to spec in those in the passive tree. Also I can combo the different totems, which you can't do with a single type of totem. Such as setting one up to cause more ignites, and then setting up the others to do more damage to ignited enemies, but cannot cause ignite themselves. You could set one up to inflict bleed, while the others consume it. Things like that. @Skellymancer#5263 Not even sure what the "button W" problem is, nor do I understand why "I" should start with it. I also don't understand why my post is specifically wasting peoples time. This is a forum for a video game. We are not meeting deadlines to cure cancer. Its all a waste of time. Its kind of one of the appeals to gaming itself. |

LMAO I play Gemling in 0.1.0 and your idea is cool and make sense , and fun ,but some problem need to be fixed.
one of the biggest problems I saw is 3 main skills , 3x the cost. compared other power build usually have 1-2. this bd need put at least 6D on skills to run cause Sentrys really need support gem. but the weapons are cheap ,+6 level and 100inc only 40E, and projectile amulet also are c right now , so maybe it's ok?? idk need some test. (btw you can set up two same skills , just put one down and make a new one. so maybe I will just use 1-2 type) Последняя редакция: SaaskiSeeTher#4146. Время: 14 апр. 2025 г., 18:13:18

Yeah I can see how cost could become an issue, but I am a SSF player so I don't tend to factor that in. Also my primitive reptile brain tends get bored with only 1-2 main skills, and I enjoy trying to find more complex combinations. Either way I am having fun with it. Still in act 3 cruel so we will see how we do once the endgame starts. |

Man, just place POB link on the first link, so people see the DPS and get this over with.
