PC Items dropping then disappearing if not immediately picked up

I have been have this issue for awhile when items drop they sometimes disapear before i can pick them up.
I am playing on PC and using a controller.

I had no issues on the initial launch but now i am having this issue.

I looked in the game settings but could not see anything to enable.
