I believe there is an unintended destructive consequence. I believe it should be that your life can't be diminished while you have energy shield rather than your life can't be altered. If you lose life you can't get it back unless you either respect that skill at high cost each time and then hit a life flask, or else allow your ES to go to zero in battle intentionally and risk dying.

No, it works as it should.

This allows things like "when at low life" or "when not at full life". If it regened it would be worse.

Your really shouldn't need to fill up on health that often anyways.
