I hope both PoE2 and Last Epoch do well. They are different games for different audiences
I've been spending the last few days playing Last Epoch, and I'm having a blast. I'm enjoying PoE2, as well.
That being said, I think I realize that the two games are philosophically different games. PoE2 is founded on the idea that friction is good, and I think it should stick to that. LE is founded on the idea that gameplay should be buttery smooth, and that's fun, too. These are both polar opposites, and I think this is a great thing, because now you can always play a game that fits your wishes. You have options, and that's great for the market. Therefore, I think the ARPG player base would be wise to play the game that aligns best to their own personal values, if for no other reason than to value their own personal time. Furthermore, it's important to recognize that different people play games for different reasons, and there's nothing wrong with that. Lastly, I want to also mention No Rest For The Wicked, which I think does the best "slow and methodical", "Souls-like" combat. It's even by some OG Diablo 2 devs, if I'm not mistaken. If that's what you want in an ARPG that has random loot and stats and stuff, then definitely give that game a go, too. Cheers! Last bumped20 апр. 2025 г., 10:53:03

I dunno, as soon as LE makes there console debut, if poe2 doesn't change there stance i think like the PC crowd the consoles will also head over to LE. Between the trade issues and the stance of not liking powerful builds(which is what i thought was the point of arpg's). Just my 2 cents. I think the whole game gotta have friction thing is gonna be it's downfall.
