Storm Lance + Concentrated effect?

So I'm wondering if its a visual bug with the interaction between these gems.

Concentrated effect is supposed to work on area skills (which storm lance is tagged as) but there is no visible change to tooltip when the support is slotted in.

Was it just unintended to let Conc Effect be slotted in? Is it a visual bug?

Yeah i m wondering too. Because the gem definitely reduces the reach of the lightning pulses once the spear is in the ground but there s absolutely 0 change in the damage tooltip whatsoever.

No real idea how to test the damage

i dunno what the mechanics actually are. this is the description on the gem afaik. it talks about zapping enemies with bolts, unleashing a volley of bolts.

to me that suggests its not area damage. that it has an area of effect within which it will zap enemies with bolts, but the bolts themselves are projectiles that hit, not a shape of area damage.

thats all guesswork tho. if its true then scaling area will scale the range of the projectile bolts but area damage will do nothing because it doesnt deal area damage at any stage.
