Opinion on the upcoming loot changes (0.2.0g)

Hey GGG,

I want to give you my feedback and I hope this reaches you in some way, shape or form.

Until playing it myself, I can't say with certainty whether these buffs are too much or not. Some of the changes to loot mentioned, I think that are good also.
Buffing chests to be more rewarding is a change that I totally approve. I also felt they are very underwhelming. Wisps also felt very underwhelming.

However, I have a feeling that the buffs get too much out of control. The feeling is the same when you nerfed some monsters previously, due to some streamers started yelling (mostly the one is known as a cat) who want simple game with hoards of loot popping every 5-10 seconds (such games already exist). Unfortunately, big chunk of the community that often blindly follow these streamers words, started spreading and strengthening what those streamers say, which in turn I think influenced you guys to start making changes you don't want and feel they are not healthy for the game.
Some requests are valid and should be addressed better like skill balance or some monsters being overpowered, but in my opinion I think the changes you make seem to be a bit on the high end.

Some changes on the loot don't appeal to me. As I said, until I play it I won't be able to give proper feedback, but I don't like the idea for example to have guaranteed loot.
Why would a boss or a rare chest give me guaranteed rare item? Why would killing a boss in a map give me guaranteed map? Why would a wisp guarantee me a rare item? Why would unique boss won't drop a normal item? This is a RPG, it should be based mostly on luck. Make the chance for example to be 80% for rare item, something on the higher end, but not straigthly guaranteed and 10% for a normal item on unique boss, something on the low end.

Also with the buffs to rarity I don't want people who have 50-100% increased rarity on their gear to scale so much so that they get double the amount of divines, compared to me for the same time spent in the game. That would force people to mainly play the overpowered builds, who don't need much investment and just put rarity on everything possible.
I think if I have 0% rarity on my gear, and another player has 70% rarity if I get 10 divines in X amount of time, they should get maximum of 12-13 divines. This is why I stopped playing early last league, because everyone was stacking as much rarity on gear as possible, like a stat that is a must have on every build. I didn't want to invest in rarity, I just wanted to play the game, but other people were so much ahead of me in terms of currency that I just stopped playing.

I know that you guys can always make changes to loot without being mentioned in the patch notes. I hope these changes are mainly focused towards that chunk of the community who follow blindly the trend of what the yelling streamers say, to calm them a little bit and don't actually increase loot with that enourmous amount.

It is possible that the loot issue is not actually a loot problem, but more like skill balance problem. Right now I'm playing an Amazon which is actually very strong Ascendancy. This may be the reason why I actually don't feel that loot right now is in a bad spot. I think you need to spend a large amount of time to buff the underwhelming skills and nerf the overpowered ones.

Take summoner for example, right now it looks very weak. Too weak. However, Summoner with it's safe gameplay SHOULD NEVER be where the top builds are, like it was last league and pretty much always in PoE1. Summoner should be where the average is, in terms of clear speed and damage output in my opinion. Unsafe builds which have setups and harder gameplay should be on the high end.

Looking forward to the new patch and please GGG, try to spend more time thinking when implementing changes requested from a part of the community. Because some of them (guaranteed loot, nerfing monsters, boosting loot and rarity, always seeing rares in maps and some others) may actually make the game worse for the rest of the community (as it is for me).

Thanks!

I just hope we will still see unique charms and dont just dis all the 3 slots we get now on mass.
Tier 3-5 is still more or less locked behind T17+, if I got that right. Will just shift the problem a little bit to the top end.
you clearly never played minions in PoE1 or PoE2 2.0 or else you would not make that comparison.

2nd besides you there are very few people that complain about to much loot.
Shadeless01 you are right, I've never played one myself, because the gameplay doesn't look engaging to me, but I've seen a lot of videos for PoE2 with 10k+ ES and basically just waiting for minions to melt everything (which was pretty fast pre 0.2).

Yeah, because being "popular" is equal to being right.

Why don't you go back to high school? You forgot to drop your teenage attitude after graduating.

And such response is very adult like
Looks like the update isn't going to do anything to improve loot imo. It'll just be more junk dropping that you are expected to hit rng with 2+ ex on to pray that the item doesn't brick. This is even worse than D4's terrible system.

They also haven't fixed item tiering yet. The best team in the league isn't tier 7 in one division and tier 11 in another. The best is always #1. First place.
They are some changes that in theory should improve loot like increasing the change that higher tier rare items will drop. However I don't like the part that more quantity of items will drop. I'd prefer much for to get the same amount of rare items, but they to be more valueable and impactful.
Agree with the general sentiment of your on many points.

For trade currency drop increase is irrelevant since buying will be still 100x more effective than crafting and this will just create some inflation though not much i assume.

For ssf currency increase will help like 20-30% if more exalts/regals/chaos drop like they said but still pure low chance rng and a lot of grinding to get good gear. Also, still a lot of builds are locked behind you grinding for currency/items with another build if not near impossible for ssf.

Guaranteed drop changes in general are meaningful. Buffing rarity is meaningful. The problem is crafting is half implemented rn. They buff expedition artifacts but that will not work. What to do with those artifacts if recombining 2 good affixes have 5-10-15% chance. Basically try to combine good stuff 5-10 times and if you succeed wasting your 4 exalts on 3-4 bad affixes is the best part. Maybe if they could change the recombining so you could select same type of affixes but different tier on both items to up your chances in exchange for getting the affix in between (eg. you select t8 flat phys and t4 flat phys and you may get t4-t5-t6-t7-t8) or to be able to select 2 same type/tier affix to greatly increase your chances. Also divines are just cosmetic in ssf. Im not a very experienced player but divining just the implicits like in poe1 when i played it would make it much more valuable in my eyes.

About the exagerration part i really don't understand trade players wanting more currency drops that will just result in wasting more exalts in believing you can hit the affix you want and create inflation. Also didn't think exalt divine drops was not much in my ssf run if i was in trade i would be grinding for the bis items with good gear on me rn but since crafting is too much rng i have wasted 200 exalts on semi good gear.

I don't know what the changes are yet, but 20 skill gems and greater/perfect jeweler orbs are way to stupid low of a drop rate. Rank 1 mods occur way too often.
