[0.2.0g] Feedback about loot and orbs

I almost completed the campaign with a new character in a new league (no items from another characters) after patch 0.2.0g, and the changes to loot have been very positive: for the first time in PoE2 (also PoE1), I actually feel excitement when opening a yellow chest, finding a strongbox, or getting keys to open the chests in the Trial of the Sekhemas.

Also, seeing unidentified Tier 2 or higher items drop during the campaign has been a great change — and you can really feel the tier of their mods (almost all Tier 3-4 or higher, and that’s on Tier 2 UnID items). This has made the gameplay experience much better: more rare items, more currency to upgrade my magic gear to rares. I was able to mess around with my build and not feel like I hit a major wall in the campaign (which did happen with the Amazon when I started in 0.2.0a). Also i like the focus here: better items, not MORE items. I quickly get bored about the loot explosions and that stuff.

The next step, I think, should be for orbs to provide better guarantees of rolling good mods. The contrast between Tier 2 item drops and orb crafting is very noticeable. I believe PoE2 should be bold here and make orbs more reliably give good mods.

Along those lines, I’d also like to see essences improved. They're feeling like a forgotten part of the gameplay experience, although I did notice more of them showing up — including Greater Essences, of which I got 3 during the campaign (compared to 1 or even none in previous campaigns). I think all essences (both normal and greater) should work like Augmentation/Exalted orbs, and that Greater Essences should roll higher-tier mods, which would make them a solid and powerful crafting tool.

Agreed but I think we need a clarification of items tier. Right now, its not clear cause some best tier of affix is T3-5 ("+X to all skill" for ex, or MS on boots) for others its T8 and for life its T12. So a drop of a T3 item means nothing. GGG needs to revert item tiers OR having same number of tier for all affixes.

Yeah, I think we need more tools to be sure to have some higher tier on item while crafting with orbs, specially when reaching end game. Not a way to garanty the highest tier of affix, more like a way to be sure to have at least T3 for higher number of tier (life for ex).
Could be a new orb (but dont think its a good idea to add more orbs on the game) or possibility to use multiple orbs at the same time (10 exalted, 10 regal or 30 augments for ex).

Again, when reaching end game, we need to find more essences that help us to craft higher tier of affix.
