CoC / CoF question: Why not anymore?

I was "obsessed" back when poe2 started with a COC/COF Comet build. I like the style, the freeze and the big balls raining from heaven.

Now i finally got time to play and see nobody playing CoC / CoF anymore. Can't identify why in the patch notes.

Can anyone tell me the reason? Is it still viable to go for that?

1/ It was nerfed shortly after release.
2/ Its season of spears, trigger meta gems are for casting, so not very usefull for attack builds
3/ Its still used for caster builds and even spears use coc for sniper mark

You missed the patch notes. Energy generation was nerfed MASSIVELY. Even with all the nodes selected and even classes like Invoker spell doesn't trigger often enough. Although invoker is probably still the best at triggering spells.

CoC/CoS is still huge on new sparks builds. I dont think ppl even play caster invokers for trigger spells.
