High latency when loading in map/hideout. Co-op unstable latency, peaks~300ms

Hello Exiles,

Since start of patch 0.2, there has been lots of latency issues. Ive read that its mainly due to DDoS attacks. We are several weeks in, most ppl went to other games. DDoS attacks should be somewhat countermeassured. Peak is over, but i still have some latency issues and im curious if any1 else is experiencing the same thing.

Issues start happening when i login, when i join map or when i play with a friend. Im from Netherlands and choosing different gateway doesnt rlly help. I usually choose Amsterdam or with ping up to Paris or Milan. (5ms-25ms)

Loading in with high latency usually gives me 90ms but stable. Noticeable difference in input delay.
I either log off to character screen and log back in. Or switch gateway and that usually fix latency issue until randomly when i enter map after a few times with no issues.

Its even worse playing together with friend. Joining friend's hideout and mapping together makes latency unstable. Jumping up and down between 90ms-300ms. He's from UK, shouldn't be any issues. I do the same when i play alone. Log in and out and that usually works for a few times to resolve it.

It's a minor issue and there is a workaround and i know it's Early Access, but I do know that a lot of ppl stay away from online games when they experience high latency.

Can GGG representative shed some light on these networking issues? Do you experience similar issues, feel free to comment.

Same here from UK on PlayStation 5, game is unplayable just constant lag spikes. been the same for weeks most i know have quit until they address it. no fun at all.
I forgot to mention that i play on PC. On PC we can monitor latency when we press F1 once with FPS, twice to monitor latency only.

Speaking of monitoring latency. If u have it with FPS, latency displays incorrectly. For example. It shows 8ms while noticing input lag, press F1 again and you'll get the actually latency. In my case 90ms.

Not sure if there is an option to monitor it on PS5. I do know that when it gets crowded in mapping, frame drops are huge and quality drops to compensate. At least on base PS5
